"Clay Drawing are topographical reliefs of living trees, made with slabs of clay. I take the clay to the tree then start by selecting a part of the tree to lift like a paint. Like photography, the image isn't clear until it has been developed: fired, glazed and fired agian."

--Susan Stair

"The symbols allow me to handle concepts that can be turned into a structure with multiple lines of thought, as a way of giving form to something that has none, a concrete form to something insubstaintial, ther are not absolute, they are rather elements that help us connect with our own ways of thinking."
